My Story

Welcome to UpLift Training, a private strength training gym in Bend, Oregon. My name is Rebecca and strength training changed my life. I know that sounds cliché, but it’s the truth. When I made the decision to take a leap of faith by walking into a gym (despite my anxieties) and hiring my first coach, I ended up starting a journey that would transform an unhealthy, depressed stay-at-home mom/hermit-in the making into a competitive beast who doesn’t take no for an answer.

But, if I’m honest, strength training didn’t really turn me into something else so much as it reminded me of who I am. It woke me up - reminded me that I’m strong in more ways than one. It taught me that I’m worth the effort.

This is what UpLift Training is all about - becoming the strongest and healthiest version of yourself, whether that be a stay-at-home or working mom, an ambitious young athlete, a kick-butt masters athlete or anything in between.

My journey led me down a path that I love. I went back to school and earned a degree in exercise science. I explored Olympic lifting and fell in love with the Highland Games. Most importantly, I found a passion for coaching and sharing what I’ve learned with you.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master's of Science in Sports Sciences and Rehabilitation from Logan University

  • Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science with an emphasis in wellness and human performance from Pennsylvania Western University

  • Associate's of Science in Exercise Science with a emphasis in personal training from Lionel University

Certifications:

  • NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (Focuses on training athletes in the gym to improve sports performance.)

  • NSCA Certified Special Populations Specialist (Includes post-rehabilitation training and training those with disorders or conditions of all system of the body.) 

  • ISSA Certified Master Trainer (Includes fitness training, strength and conditioning, corrective exercise, exercise therapy, senior fitness and nutrition.)

  • Barbell Rehab Method

  • StrongFirst SFG-I 

  • USA Weightlifting Level-I
